TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – A possible drowning occurred on Friday afternoon, May 23, near the 120th Avenue beach access on Treasure Island Beach.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., a 911 call reported that bystanders were performing CPR on an individual who had been pulled from the water. Emergency responders from Treasure Island Fire Rescue, Treasure Island Police, Madeira Beach Fire Rescue, St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue, and Sunstar EMS were dispatched to the scene.
First responders found the individual unconscious and not breathing. Advanced Life Support measures were initiated immediately. After about 20 minutes of resuscitation efforts, the patient was moved to an ambulance waiting in the parking lot at 11260 Gulf Boulevard and transported to HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital. The person’s current condition has not been released.
During the response, a separate medical emergency was reported nearby. An individual was found unresponsive and vomiting. That person received on-site medical care.
