An apparent tornado touched down in Largo on Wednesday evening, causing property damage but no reported injuries.
Just after 7 p.m., a Largo firefighter reported spotting a tornado near Fire Station 38, located at 7630 Ulmerton Road. Moments later, a Ring camera captured dramatic foot of a mobile home at the Ranchero Villiage Mobile Home Park being lifted and crashing back down.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued but no tornado warnings were issued.
Largo Fire Rescue and partner agencies have completed initial search and safety operations at two manufactured home communities, Bay Ranch and Ranchero Village, located in the 7000 block of Ulmerton Road, following significant storm damage that occurred on the evening of Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Crews conducted street-by-street damage assessments and search efforts, confirming damage to an estimated 10–15 homes in Bay Ranch and 40–50 homes in Ranchero Village, ranging from minor to severe conditions. No injuries have been reported. Emergency crews cleared the affected scene at approximately 11:30 PM, after confirming no residents required emergency housing assistance at that time.
This morning, the City of Largo deployed damage assessment teams to conduct further evaluations in the impacted areas.
The American Red Cross (ARC) has opened a case for those impacted by the storm. Anyone needing assistance can contact ARC at 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). ARC teams will be in the area today to provide assistance to affected residents.

The National Weather Service office in Tampa Bay Ruskin FL will conduct a storm survey today, 06/26/2025, for the area near Largo in Pinellas County Florida. The survey is in relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved through the area on 06/25/2025 at approximately 7PM.
A final assessment including results of the survey are expected to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement by this afternoon.
