LARGO, FL — A Largo man was arrested on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, following a series of incidents that included threatening his mother with a weapon, attempting to obtain money from a bank, and resisting law enforcement officers.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Robert Alan Munoz faces multiple charges, including robbery with a weapon, domestic battery, resisting an officer without violence, and threat to a law enforcement officer.
At approximately 12:45 p.m., deputies received reports of a man waving a gun around at 10833 Seminole Boulevard in Largo. Munoz was later identified as the individual. Deputies stated that Munoz got into a vehicle with his mother, and during the drive to a Wells Fargo bank located at 8700 Bryan Dairy Road, he began a verbal altercation. Munoz allegedly grabbed his mother’s hair, pulled her head back against the headrest, and placed a BB gun to the back of her head, demanding she withdraw $20.

After exiting the vehicle, she drove away. Munoz then entered the bank and attempted to obtain money from a teller without displaying the weapon. Deputies confronted him outside the bank, at which point Munoz threw the BB gun into nearby bushes and refused to comply with commands.
One deputy stated that Munoz refused to give up his hands while lying on the ground and continued to resist until physical force was used. He was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody.
Munoz was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
No injuries requiring medical treatment were reported.
