An adult male in his 30s was reported missing by family members about 3:30 p.m. this
afternoon just south of Pier 60.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel, along with multiple other agencies, began searching for the missing swimmer off Clearwater Beach.

He was located after approximately 25 minutes, and taken onto the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office boat. First responders performed CPR and after taken to shore, he was transported to a local hospital. According to an update from the City of Clearwater, the swimmer died at Morton Plant Hospital.
He has been identified as 34-year-old Joshua Westley of Largo.
