Armed Juveniles Driving a Stolen Car Arrested In Tampa

TAMPA, FL. (October 9, 2025) – – Overnight, Tampa Police officers, working in partnership with Florida Highway Patrol troopers, arrested three juveniles in a stolen vehicle, which was also found to have a stolen firearm inside.

“Thanks to the outstanding efforts of our officers and our partners with the Florida Highway Patrol, these teens who were committing multiple felonies will now be held accountable, and a stolen gun has been taken off the street,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “It should be clear that those who choose to participate in criminal and reckless behavior will be held accountable in the City of Tampa.”

On October 8, 2025, at around 2:00 a.m., it was reported that three unknown suspects entered and stole a 2015 Mercedes sedan. Later that night, just before 8:30 p.m., officers located the vehicle near N. 30th St. and E. Lake Ave. The car began to drive in a careless manner. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, and a brief pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was ended as soon as Tampa Police Air Service responded and began providing updates to ground units. 

After successfully deploying spike strips to disable the vehicle slowly, the Florida Highway Patrol conducted a PIT stop on the stolen vehicle, where it came to a stop in the area of Hanna Ave near N. 56th St.

Three juvenile suspects were taken into custody, two of whom have prolific criminal histories, including Grand Theft Auto, Fraud, and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

While searching the vehicle, officers also recovered a stolen semi-automatic 9mm firearm.

In total, the suspects are now facing 11 felony and two misdemeanor charges as a result of this incident.

16-year-old Sincere Williams, who was the driver, is charged with five felonies: Armed Burglary of Conveyance, Possession of Burglary Tools, Fleeing and Attempting To Elude a Police Officer, Carrying Concealed Firearm, Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony; as well as and two misdemeanors: No Valid Driver’s License, and Minor in Possession of a Firearm. 

15-year-old Samir Williams is facing three felonies: One Count of Possession of Burglary Tools, One Count of Burglary of an Occupied Conveyance While Wearing a Mask, and One Count of Grand Theft Auto. 

16-year-old Omari Lewis is facing three felonies: One Count of Possession of Burglary Tools, One Count of Burglary of an Occupied Conveyance While Wearing a Mask, and One Count of Grand Theft Auto.
