Hillsborough County – A 54-year-old Apopka man died following a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Interstate 4.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. on October 11, 2025. The man was driving a Kia SUV westbound on I-4, just west of Branch Forbes Road, when he suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle.

The SUV entered the median, struck a guardrail, and was redirected across the highway. The vehicle then traveled onto the outside grass shoulder, struck an embankment, became airborne, and overturned in a tree line.
The driver was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
