Fire Chief William A. Schobel expressed appreciation for the support, stating:

“Thank you to Firehouse Subs, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, and the Seminole City Council for unwavering support, and to the members of Seminole Fire Rescue who made this grant happen. The 36k grant will purchase life-saving extrication tools used to remove a victim of an auto accident from the wreckage. With an average of 150 reported vehicle collisions daily in the Tampa Bay area, these tools are often used to remove the metal from around victims for a safe extrication. The tools will help make firefighters successful in saving lives and facilitate positive outcomes within our community. Thank you to all involved, and support your local Firehouse Subs restaurants because they really do care.”

A celebretory cake of “1400” was at the event to help celebrate Firehouse Sub’s 1400th location

The new extrication equipment will enhance Seminole Fire Rescue’s ability to safely and efficiently free trapped victims following serious vehicle crashes and other emergencies.
