Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Bearss Avenue in Hillsborough County

A 19-year-old Inverness man was seriously injured after crashing his Yamaha R6 motorcycle while exiting southbound I-275 onto Bearss Avenue at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

According to investigators, the motorcycle was traveling at high speed when it left the ramp, struck a concrete traffic island, and entered Bearss Avenue. The motorcycle then collided with a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer, driven by a 41-year-old Tampa man.

The impact threw the rider from the motorcycle. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
