Pedestrian Dies Following Morning Crash with School Bus in Oldsmar

Oldsmar, FL – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a fatal crash involving a school bus and a pedestrian that occurred Wednesday morning in Oldsmar.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on October 15, 2025, deputies responded to the intersection of Forest Lakes Boulevard and Pine Avenue following reports of a pedestrian struck by a school bus.

According to investigators, 75-year-old Timothy Mullin was driving a 2009 Pinellas County International school bus and turning left from Pine Avenue onto Forrest Lakes Boulevard when he struck 88-year-old Julio Cobaich. Cobaich was crossing Forrest Lakes Boulevard from north to south within the crosswalk.

Cobaich was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators report that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash. Two juveniles were on the bus at the time, along with Mullin, but none were injured.

Next of kin has been notified. The investigation remains ongoing.
