Fatal Crash Involving E-Bike on 66th Street and 18th Avenue North

ST. PETERSBURG – A man died following a crash involving an e-bike and a vehicle on Thursday night, October 16, 2025.

According to investigators, just after 8 p.m., a black Ford Focus was traveling southbound on 66th Street South in the center lane as it crossed 18th Avenue North. A black e-bike, operated by 46-year-old Shannon White, was traveling westbound across 66th Street North when it entered the path of the Ford Focus and was struck.

Police say White was not using the marked crosswalk and failed to follow the traffic signal. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Ford Focus remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Next of kin have been notified. The investigation remains ongoing.
