Deputies say that on October 20, 2025, Perry and a co-defendant, 18-year-old Benjamin Warshowsky, passed counterfeit $20 bills at several businesses, including Sugar Daddies Ice Cream and The Spice & Tea Exchange on Madeira Beach. Surveillance footage captured Perry during the transactions, and investigators later identified him as the suspect.

On October 28, Perry contacted the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and reported that he was in possession of several counterfeit $100 bills. Deputies met with him and recovered 21 fake $100 bills. Perry told investigators he had been passing the bills at various stores under pressure from an unknown person.

According to a Facebook post, Hubbard’s Marina claims they were victims, as were DeLosa’s Pizza, Kiwlin’s, The Spice & Tea Exchange of John’s Pass, and Sculley’s.

Throughout the investigation, detectives learned that 19-year-old Myles Dorris was also involved. Detectives say that Perry, Warshowsky, and Dorris altered the bills and planned to leave in a rental car to pass the bills in Georgia and Tennessee.

While attempting contact, Warshowsky fled on an electric bike and Dorris fled on foot. Both were apprehended shortly after. All three suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Pinellas County Jail. During the arrests, detectives found almost $20,000 in counterfeit currency.
