PASCO COUNTY – A 17-year-old male from Land O’ Lakes died Thursday morning following a crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer on I-75.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. on October 30, 2025, north of County Road 54.
Troopers say the teen was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on I-75 in the outside lane, while a 65-year-old Crystal River man was driving a tractor-trailer in the center lane. The motorcyclist changed lanes and collided with the passenger side of the tractor-trailer.
The motorcycle overturned, and the rider was struck by the undercarriage of the truck. The motorcycle ended up fully engulfed in fire. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
