Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol report that traffic slowed in front of the Sentra, and the driver did not slow or stop. The Sentra struck the rear of the concrete truck near Lillian Avenue.

An air transport unit was requested due to the damage to the Sentra and the driver’s injuries. Extrication crews worked for about 30 minutes to free her. Aeromed landed in the parking lot of St. Petersburg College while firefighters completed the extrication. She was then flown to a trauma center.
