Tampa — A commercial vehicle overturned on the Selmon Expressway on Wednesday after the driver swerved to avoid a lane-changing pickup truck, according to preliminary information.
The crash occurred at about 12:12 p.m. as a 48-year-old Lakeland man was driving eastbound on the Selmon. Investigators reported that the driver took evasive action to prevent a collision, lost control, and struck a concrete barrier and a light pole. The vehicle overturned and came to rest near the Channelside exit ramp.
The driver was not injured. Traffic units from FHP responded to the scene, and crews worked to clear the vehicle from the roadway.
