Largo — Largo Police have arrested two individuals following an investigation into dogs abandoned at Taylor Park in December.
According to the Largo Police Department, officers were notified on December 19, 2025, that 11 dogs — nine puppies and two adult female dogs — had been abandoned at Taylor Park. The dogs were transported to a local animal hospital for evaluation, where veterinarians determined the animals were sick with parvovirus.
Investigators identified the suspects as 42-year-old Mary Ann Halahuni Gamble and 43-year-old Fred Gamble. Police say the investigation revealed both suspects were illegally breeding the dogs and were aware that some puppies in their custody had been sick and died after being sold.

On January 2, 2026, both suspects were taken into custody. Each faces 12 counts of felony animal cruelty.
The investigation remains active. Police state no additional details will be released at this time.
