BRADENTON — Bradenton Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved crash that occurred Friday evening on Manatee Avenue.
According to police, the crash happened around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Manatee Avenue and 21st Street East. A pedestrian, described as a man in his 80s, was crossing Manatee Avenue outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a motorcycle and then by a second vehicle.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
Police identified the motorcycle operator as Javier Ochoa, 27. Investigators said Ochoa left the scene after the crash. The driver of the second vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.

Shortly after the incident, Ochoa contacted law enforcement and cooperated with the investigation. He was arrested and charged with failure to remain at the scene of a crash involving death.
Manatee Avenue was closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash. All lanes reopened in both directions around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the pedestrian lived in the area, but officers had not yet been able to contact the victim’s next of kin as of Saturday morning.
The investigation remains ongoing.
