High-Speed Motorcycle Chase From Gandy Bridge at Speeds of 150 MPH on I-275 Ends in Arrest

TAMPA – On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., a Florida Highway Patrol aircraft observed multiple motorcycles operating recklessly and racing on Westshore Boulevard in Tampa.

The aircraft tracked the group as it traveled across the Gandy Bridge. An FHP trooper attempted a traffic stop on one of the riders. The rider fled to 4th Street, then southbound on Interstate 275 at speeds estimated at 150 mph.

The rider exited at Carillon Parkway, abandoned the motorcycle, and was taken into custody in a nearby parking garage.

Troopers charged Michael Alexander Fiallo, 19, of Wesley Chapel, with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and no motorcycle endorsement. Fiallo was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
