Hillsborough County — A 25-year-old Tampa man was killed early this morning in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75. The crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, north of Fletcher Avenue at MM 268.
According to authorities, the man was driving a Dodge 1500 northbound in the outside lane of I-75. A Chevy box truck, driven by a 35-year-old Valrico man, was traveling northbound ahead of him.
Investigators said the Dodge overtook and collided with the rear of the box truck. The impact caused the box truck to come to rest along the shoulder of the highway.
After the collision, the Dodge overturned multiple times, ejecting the driver onto the roadway. The driver was thrown into the center lanes, where he was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by a 50-year-old Riverview man, also traveling northbound on I-75.
The 25-year-old Tampa man suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
No additional injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
