LARGO — Officers with the Largo Police Department responded to a reported shooting Wednesday evening at an apartment complex in Largo. It was at the Melrose on the Bay complex at 5142 Foxbridge Circle.
Police said the call came in at approximately 6:28 p.m. on March 11, 2026, at 5142 Foxbridge Circle. Initial reports indicated an unknown individual was firing a weapon from inside an apartment, but the gunfire was not directed at any specific individuals.
No injuries were reported.
Officers located and apprehended two subjects walking in the area of the reported shooting. The apartment connected to the incident was later cleared by the Largo Police Department SWAT team.
According to an update released Thursday, the Largo Police Department’s Investigative Services Division is continuing to work with patrol officers on the discharge of a firearm investigation related to the incident.
Police said no arrest has been made in connection with the firearm discharge at this time.
Authorities confirmed that one of the individuals detained at the scene was arrested on an unrelated charge for violating the stipulations of a protection order.
Officials reiterated that there is no further threat to public safety.
