Largo Police: Driver Overdosed, Struck Bicyclist Before Drugs Found in Truck

A Clearwater man faces multiple drug trafficking and DUI-related charges after Largo police say he overdosed while driving and struck a bicyclist.

According to an arrest affidavit, Largo Police responded to a crash at about 5:24 p.m. on March 11, 2026, at South Missouri Avenue and Ponce De Leon Boulevard. Callers reported a driver unconscious behind the wheel of a white 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Officers arriving at the scene found the driver unconscious inside the vehicle, which was still in drive and stopped against a curb with the doors locked. Largo Fire Department personnel forced entry into the truck and administered 8 mg of Narcan. The driver regained consciousness and was transported to Morton Plant Hospital.

Police said the driver struck a bicyclist during the crash. According to the report, the bicyclist suffered injuries.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old Nicholas Antonio Morad of Clearwater. Investigators said Morad later admitted, after receiving Miranda warnings, that he had used methamphetamine earlier in the day prior to the crash.

During the crash investigation, Morad’s truck was impounded and inventoried. Officers reported finding several narcotics and drug-related items inside the vehicle, including drugs located in a silver locking storage box on the rear floorboard and in other areas of the truck.

Investigators also reported finding packaging materials, including sandwich bags and cash totaling $704 in denominations commonly associated with street-level narcotics sales.

Field tests on several of the substances were reported to be positive for narcotics.

Police said the substances recovered included:

• Approximately 151.85 grams of methamphetamine
• Approximately 152.47 grams of fentanyl
• Approximately 18.30 grams of cocaine
• Approximately 88.94 grams of alprazolam
• Approximately 7.43 grams of MDMA

Morad was arrested at about 7 p.m. and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

He faces multiple felony charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in fentanyl, and possession of controlled substances with intent to sell, including cocaine, alprazolam, and MDMA. He is also charged with DUI with property damage or injury related to the crash involving the bicyclist.

As of March 14, 2026, Moran remains in the Pinellas County Jail.
