Six Hospitalized After Crash Following Attempted Traffic Stop in Treasure Island

TREASURE ISLAND — A crash occurred near the intersection of Gulf Boulevard and 104th Avenue at approximately 9:56 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

According to initial information, an officer with the Treasure Island Police Department observed an Audi A7 traveling on Gulf Boulevard at a high speed. The driver fled from the officer and subsequently crashed.

Six people were transported to hospitals. Four occupants were taken to a local trauma center, and two others were transported to local hospitals. The crash also severely damaged a utility pole.

The driver, identified as 42-year-old Milan John Racak, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail after being released from the hospital. He faces charges of DUI, fleeing and eluding with serious bodily injury or death, and DUI with serious bodily injury.

The crash remains under investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team.
