ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Detectives with the St. Petersburg Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal house fire in the Coquina Key neighborhood that left one person dead and another seriously injured.

According to investigators, 18-year-old Angelina Anderson died following the fire, which occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. on March 22, 2026, at a residence located at 3963 Neptune Drive SE. Authorities said the fire began when a vehicle parked under the carport was intentionally set on fire, causing flames to spread to the home.

On March 30, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Charles Chambliss III, 18, who is accused of setting the fire. He turned himself in to the police on April 1. Chambliss is charged with felony murder and three counts of attempted felony murder.

Investigators say Chambliss lives nearby in the Coquina Key area and was known to the victims.

In a related development, the suspect’s father, Charles Chambliss Jr., 46, was arrested on March 27. Police say he discarded clothing items in a dumpster behind a closed business, knowing the items could be relevant to the arson investigation. He has been charged with tampering with physical evidence.

The investigation remains ongoing.
