PINELLAS PARK — A man has been arrested following a reported sexual battery at a Pinellas Park massage business.
According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, officers responded around 9 p.m. on April 9 to Pure & Wellness Massage, located at 8831 49th Street North, after receiving a report of a sexual battery.
Investigators said the suspect entered the business and requested a massage. During the session, the suspect sexually battered the victim. Police said the suspect then removed items he believed could identify him and attempted to prevent the victim from contacting 911 before leaving the scene in a vehicle.
Detectives launched an investigation and identified the suspect as 40-year-old Adreon Javon Grant of Largo.
Authorities said Grant returned to the area more than six hours after the incident and drove past the business. Officers observed the vehicle and attempted to locate and stop it. During the attempted stop, Grant crashed into a tree. He was taken into custody without incident and was not injured in the crash.
Grant was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and charged with sexual battery and tampering with a witness.
The investigation remains ongoing.
