LARGO — A 32-year-old Pinellas Park man was arrested early April 23, 2026, following a hit-and-run crash in Largo that left a victim injured and led to a foot pursuit, according to arrest affidavits.

Austin Christopher Hill, age 32, of Pinellas Park, was driving a black 2007 GMC Sierra towing a boat trailer when he was involved in a crash around 11:57 p.m. on April 22 in the area of 11950 Seminole Boulevard.

According to investigators, Hill’s vehicle struck another vehicle. When the victim exited, Hill allegedly drove away, running over the victim’s foot and causing injury.

Authorities state the offender fled north on Seminole Boulevard to the area of 21st Avenue SE, where he performed a high-speed U-turn, causing the boat to break free of the trailer and fall into the roadway. He then continued to flee until officers attempted a traffic stop.

Police say Hill eventually stopped near Missouri Avenue and Bellevue Boulevard but fled on foot. Officers pursued him and located him hiding behind a shed, where he was taken into custody after ignoring commands to stop.

Investigators noted signs of impairment, including bloodshot and watery eyes, an unsteady balance, and the odor of alcohol. Hill denied drinking but refused field sobriety exercises and declined to provide a breath sample. Records show a prior DUI conviction in Pinellas County in April 2023 and a prior refusal to submit to testing.

Hill faces multiple charges, including:

  • Leaving the scene of a crash involving injury (felony)
  • Driving under the influence (misdemeanor)
  • Refusal to submit to testing with a prior refusal (misdemeanor)
  • Resisting an officer without violence (misdemeanor)

He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
