Plant City Police Investigating Multi-Victim Homicide Involving Children

PLANT CITY — The Plant City Police Department is actively investigating a homicide involving multiple victims, including two young children, at two locations within the city.

Officers responded on May 3, 2026, to a reported disturbance in the 300 block of West Tever Street. Upon arrival, officers located four individuals at the scene. A 4-month-old infant and a 4-year-old child had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Their 28-year-old mother was found alive and transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Another child present at the location was not physically injured.

As the investigation progressed, detectives were led to a second scene in the 900 block of North Burton Street. There, officers located the 55-year-old mother of the 28-year-old woman, who was also deceased from a gunshot wound.

Detectives are requesting assistance from the public as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities said some individuals traveled on foot between the North Burton Street and West Tever Street locations during the early morning hours.

Residents and businesses in the area are asked to review surveillance or doorbell camera footage recorded between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on May 3, 2026. Investigators are specifically seeking video that may show a woman walking with three young children in the vicinity of North Burton Street, West Tever Street, or nearby areas.
