Pasco County — A 29-year-old Port Richey man was arrested late May 3, 2026, following a high-speed pursuit on U.S. Highway 19 that reached speeds of approximately 120 miles per hour, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident began around 11:13 p.m. when a trooper observed a 2020 Honda CBR600 motorcycle traveling southbound on U.S. 19 at a high rate of speed near the intersection with Jessup Lane. The trooper attempted a traffic stop at U.S. 19 and Eden Avenue using emergency lights and siren, but the rider accelerated away, initiating a pursuit. In addition, the motorcycle’s tag was flipped up into the
wheel well, preventing law enforcement from seeing the tag’s information.
During the chase, the motorcyclist allegedly ran multiple red lights, weaved through traffic, and drove recklessly in an attempt to evade law enforcement. The pursuit continued northbound into Hernando County and into the Glenn Lakes area.
Authorities said the rider eventually slowed, stopped, and surrendered, placing his hands in the air. He was taken into custody at approximately 11:22 p.m.
The suspect was identified as Dalton Michael Hubbert, 29.
According to the arrest report, a search revealed the suspect was carrying a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol. The motorcycle’s license plate was also reportedly flipped upward, preventing identification.
Hubbert faces multiple charges, including:
- Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement (felony)
- Use/display of a weapon during a felony (felony)
- Reckless driving (misdemeanor)
- Speeding more than 50 mph over the limit (misdemeanor)
He was transported to the Pasco County Detention Facility for booking.
Officials noted the incident originated in Pasco County before continuing into Hernando County.
