OLDSMAR — A 6-year-old girl has died from injuries sustained in a serious two-vehicle crash in Oldsmar that occurred last week, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are continuing to investigate the crash, which happened on April 30, 2026, at approximately 4:42 p.m. at the intersection of Tampa Road and St. Petersburg Drive.
Investigators say 27-year-old Jayanna Clark, of St. Petersburg, was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima eastbound on Tampa Road when her vehicle collided with a westbound 2021 Tesla Model 3 driven by 52-year-old Christy Proctor, who was attempting to turn south onto St. Petersburg Drive.
According to investigators, both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time and collided in the middle of the intersection.
Proctor suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Clark was also transported with minor injuries along with two juvenile passengers. A 4-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and a 6-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries.
On May 7, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office announced that the 6-year-old passenger had succumbed to her injuries. The 4-year-old passenger has since been released from the hospital.
Investigators said speed appears to have been a factor in the crash. Impairment does not appear to be a factor.
The investigation remains ongoing.
