According to investigators, a 2019 Kenworth semi dump truck, driven by a 59-year-old North Port man, was stopped in the southbound left-turn lane on US 41 at the southbound I-275 entrance ramp intersection.

At the same time, a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling northbound on US 41 approaching the intersection. Troopers say the semi truck entered the intersection and began turning left toward the southbound entrance ramp to I-275 when the motorcycle entered the same intersection.
