Shooting Leaves Man Critically Injured in St. Petersburg; Investigation Underway

ST. PETERSBURG — Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man with life-threatening injuries.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:27 a.m. after residents of The Meadows Apartments, located at 870 117th Terrace North, reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Shortly afterward, police received another call reporting that a man suffering from a gunshot wound was being driven to the hospital by another individual in a private vehicle.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue intercepted the white Kia Optima at the Circle K located at 10600 Roosevelt Boulevard North, where paramedics began treating the victim before transporting him to a local hospital. He has potentially life threatening injuries.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As of Tuesday morning, no suspect is in custody.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
