Motorcyclist Killed in SR-54 Crash in Pasco County

A 20-year-old Tampa man was killed Saturday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with an SUV at an intersection on State Road 54 in Pasco County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. on July 11, 2026.

Troopers said the Tampa man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on SR-54 at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a 53-year-old New Port Richey man was driving a Chevy Suburban eastbound on SR-54.

As the Suburban turned left onto Player Drive, it entered the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The Kawasaki struck the SUV, causing the rider to suffer critical injuries.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Suburban was not reported to have suffered serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
