BRADENTON — Approximately 157 residents are being evacuated and relocated after a significant structural collapse at Aviata at Bradenton Villas on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred at Aviata at Bradenton Villas, located at 105 15th St. E. in Bradenton.
According to Manatee County officials, personnel from Manatee County Public Safety, Manatee County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Bradenton Fire Department, the City of Bradenton, and regional partners responded to assist with the evacuation and relocation of residents.
Bradenton Fire Department crews and Manatee County EMS District Chiefs worked to safely evacuate residents from the facility, while Manatee County Emergency Management is coordinating the ongoing response.
Officials said transportation and temporary accommodations are being arranged for the displaced residents. Because of the large number of people requiring relocation, assistance has been requested from neighboring agencies in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, which are providing additional ambulances and accessible transportation vehicles.
At this time, no injuries have been reported, and officials said no additional emergency response resources have been requested.
The Bradenton Police Department is assisting with traffic control in the area while the evacuation and relocation efforts continue.
The cause of the structural collapse has not yet been released. Officials said public safety personnel and facility representatives remain on scene coordinating the relocation of residents.
