Man Dies After Steel Beam Falls on Him at Pinellas County Business

PINELLAS PARK — An adult male died Thursday morning after a steel beam fell on him at a property in Pinellas Park.

The initial emergency call came in at approximately 10:04 a.m. on August 27, 2026, at Hammer Haag Steel Inc. located at 12707 US Hwy 19 N. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at approximately 10:11 a.m. after receiving a report that a steel beam had fallen on the man.

Fire rescue crews were able to remove the beam and free the man. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The response included fire crews from Largo, Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg, along with Sunstar Paramedics, the Pinellas Park Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The investigation remains active, and authorities said no further information is available for release at this time.
