Two people were killed and two others injured in a crash involving a pickup truck and two motorcycles Friday night.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m. on August 28, 2026, at the intersection of US-41 and 24th Avenue South.
According to investigators, a 44-year-old Ruskin man was driving a Chevrolet Colorado westbound on 24th Avenue South while a 31-year-old Tampa man was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on US-41.
Investigators say the driver of the Colorado attempted to turn left at the intersection, entering the path of the northbound motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck the pickup truck.

A second Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 20-year-old Tampa man, was traveling northbound on US-41 behind the first motorcycle. The rider observed the crash hazard and steered to the right in an attempt to avoid the pickup truck before overturning.
All three drivers and an 18-year-old Clearwater woman who was a passenger on the first motorcycle were injured and transported to area hospitals.
The 31-year-old motorcycle operator and his 18-year-old passenger later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The 44-year-old pickup driver and the 20-year-old motorcyclist survived their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
