Brush Fire Along Railroad Tracks in Largo
March 21, 2014
Units from Seminole Fire Rescue were dispatched to reports of brush fire this afternoon. The call for service came in at about 4:20pm.
The fire was located on both sides of the railroad tracks midway between Bryan Dairy and Starkey Roads. Flows of water from both Seminole’s Engine 30 and Truck 29 brought the situation under control in about 45 minutes.
Employees from a nearby business used a fire extinguisher to battle the fire prior to the fire crews arrival.
There have been a number of suspicious fires along this stretch of railroad tracks in the past few months. A unit from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office was on-scene to assist with the investigation.
