16 year-old girl struck by vehicle this morning in Seminole

Update: Rebeccah Black remains in the hospital in stable condition with injuries now listed as minor. New information from FHP revealed she was crossing 86th Ave N in the marked crosswalk under a “red” do not walk pedestrian signal.
At approximately 7AM, Friday, October 17, 2014 a 16 year-old girl was stuck by a vehicle at 86th Avenue and 131st Street.
A 49 year-old man from Seminole was driving his 1997 Ford Pickup truck southbound on 131st Street.  Under a green signal, he turned left onto eastbound 86th Avenue N.  The pickup truck struck the girl who was crossing 86th Avenue a short distance east of the intersection.
The injured girl, who’s name has not yet been released, sustained serious injuries and was transported to All Children’s Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
No charges are pending as the pedestrian was crossing the two lane roadway not in a crosswalk in low-light conditions.
