CLEARWATER – On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, multiple first responder agencies across Pinellas County will conduct a joint Active Assailant Mass Casualty Exercise.
The exercise will take place at Clearwater High School, located at 1951 Gulf to Bay Boulevard. The goal of the exercise is to evaluate and enhance emergency response coordination in a simulated high-risk incident. Although the scenario is not real, participating agencies will respond as if it were an actual emergency.
To support the exercise, several roads around the school will be closed to the public:
Arcturas Avenue – Limited access begins at 6:00 a.m.; full road closure at 8:30 a.m. S. Hercules Avenue – Closed from the southern half to Druid Road beginning at 8:30 a.m. Druid Road – Closed between S. Hercules Avenue and Willowbranch Avenue starting at 8:30 a.m.
All affected roads are expected to reopen by 1:00 p.m. Gulf to Bay Boulevard will remain open and unaffected during the event.
Officials advise the public to avoid the area during the exercise timeframe.
