Clearwater Police officers and detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 7 p.m. today at the Publix located at 1295 S. Missouri Ave.
Two suspects, a black male and a white male, were on bicycles outside the store when one of them grabbed a gun from the holster of a security guard who was outside. The guard fell to the ground and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
On Thursday evening, Clearwater Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile who has now been charged with armed robbery and was booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center. The investigation continues to identify the other subject involved in the armed robbery.
