On Saturday, May 25, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of 40th Street N and Park Blvd. for a serious injury crash involving two vehicles.
Each vehicle had three occupants: a 2023 Hyundai Elantra and a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer.
According to investigators, the Jeep driver, 45-year-old Terry Antonion Thimpson-Ortega, was traveling east on Park Boulevard, approaching 40th Street.
The driver of the Hyundai, 28-year-old Jasmine Deneise Layna Rainey, was traveling west on Park Boulevard, attempting to make a U-turn
at 40th Street, when both vehicles collided in the intersection.
Tragically, alcohol is a factor for both drivers in this crash, according to investigators.
All of the occupants in the Hyundai have nonlife-threatening but severe bodily injuries and have been transported to Bayfront Hospital for treatment.
All occupants of the Jeep were uninjured. The driver, Terri Antonio Thimpson-Ortega, has been arrested and charged with three (3) counts of driving under the influence involving serious bodily injury.
Charges for the driver of the Hyundai, Jasmine Rainey, are pending.
The Pinellas Park Police Department strongly advises all motorists to designate a sober driver or arrange for a safe alternative mode of transportation rather than driving under the influence.
