On February 12, 2024, Carlos Roman was involved in a serious bodily injury crash at the intersection of Belcher Road and 126th Avenue N. Following his release from the hospital, Roman discovered $100.00 in cash and a credit card had been stolen from his wallet.
Investigators determined that during Roman’s hospitalization, his credit card was unlawfully used at the Walmart Super Center, located at 8001 US Highway 19 N in Pinellas Park. The unauthorized purchases amounted to $157.31, covering merchandise and gift cards. Additionally, the card was used at a secondary location in Tampa shortly after that.
A review of Walmart’s security video identified 29-year-old Irvin Lemorris Green of Pinellas Park as the suspect. Green was captured on camera, and the stolen credit card was visible in the transaction at the cash register used to purchase the items.
Green, employed as a Security Guard at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Hospital, had access to Roman’s belongings while Roman received treatment in the Emergency Room.
Statement released by Bayfront Health
Bayfront Health takes this allegation very seriously.
The individual in question was employed by a contract security firm and is no longer at Bayfront Health.
We continue to cooperate with law enforcement.
In addition, investigators from the Pinellas Park Police Department have successfully identified and arrested 35-year-old Gabriel Palmer of Pinellas Park regarding the fraudulent use of a credit card.
Surveillance footage from Walmart depicts Palmer alongside the primary suspect, Irvin Green, during unauthorized transactions involving Carlos Roman’s stolen credit card.
Additionally, Palmer attempted to use the credit card at the self-checkout, but the transaction was declined.
While identified as a personal associate of Irvin Green, Gabriel Palmer is not affiliated with Bayfront Health in any official capacity.
Investigators arrested Irvin Lemorris Green and Gabiel Palmer, who have been charged with a felony for the fraudulent use of a credit card.
Roman was transported to the trauma center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg following a crash that occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on February 12, 2024. He was the motorcycle operator who collided with a semi, which led to a significant diesel leak. He suffered from very significant and extensive lower extremity injuries.
