Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Truck at Clearwater Intersection

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a vehicle-versus-bicycle crash Monday night that resulted in the death of a Clearwater man.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Druid Road and Myrtle Avenue. According to investigators, 41-year-old David Kluever was riding a bicycle eastbound when he went through a red light and was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

Kluever was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by Clearwater Police.
