ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A body was discovered deep in the Weedon Island Preserve on Friday, March 14. Due to its condition, detectives have not yet confirmed if it belongs to missing 17-year-old Allister Nasr.
The Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death and work to identify the remains.
Nasr has been missing since March 1, when he left home on his bicycle. His bike was found on Wednesday near the preserve.
Authorities have been searching the area for several days using drones, helicopters, thermal imaging, and boats. A park ranger discovered personal items on Friday, leading to another aerial search, during which the remains were located.
The investigation is ongoing.
