ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A body was discovered deep in the Weedon Island Preserve on Friday, March 14. Due to its condition, detectives have not yet confirmed if it belongs to missing 17-year-old Allister Nasr.
The Pinellas Medical Examiner confirmed that the body found deep in the Weedon Island Preserve on Friday, March 14th, is that of missing 17-year-old Allister Samer Nasr.
The Pinellas County Medical Examiner is still working to determine the cause of death and is awaiting the results of further testing. There are no signs of trauma and no reason to suspect foul play.
Nasr was missing since March 1, when he left home on his bicycle. His bike was found on Wednesday near the preserve.
Authorities searched the area for several days using drones, helicopters, thermal imaging, and boats. A park ranger discovered personal items on Friday, leading to another aerial search, during which the remains were located.
The investigation is ongoing.
