Bomb Squad Investigated a Suspicious Package Outside the Clearwater Babies R Us Store

The Tampa Police Department bomb squad responded to the Babies R Us store located at 21315 US Hwy 19 in Clearwater.

Clearwater Police report that the incident involved an object located in a shopping cart outside the store that was noticed at about 10:30 a.m.

The store was then evacuated as a precautionary measure.

At about 1 p.m., Clearwater Police reported that the device turned out to be a metal box filled with personal items.

Officers will be clearing the scene shortly.
