Car transporting teen shooting victim crashes at 5th Avenue S. and 7th Street

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, police received reports of gunfire near Paris Avenue and 6th Street South.

Friends attempted to transport a 15-year-old boy who had sustained a gunshot wound to the hospital. However, the vehicle crashed a few minutes later at 5th Ave S. and 7th St. S., prompting the other occupants to flee.

Paramedics subsequently transported the injured victim to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are actively investigating to ascertain the precise location and circumstances of the shooting.
