St. Petersburg, FL – St. Petersburg Police detectives have arrested Roseshana Smith, 23, and Jordan Gatlin, 26, in connection with a child abuse investigation. Both have been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse for causing injuries to a two-year-old girl under their care.
The investigation began on August 15th when the girl was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Medical staff discovered she had significant internal injuries and multiple scars in various stages of healing.
In addition to the aggravated child abuse charges, Smith and Gatlin also face a charge of child neglect concerning an eight-month-old boy who was also in their care.
The investigation is ongoing, and due to the confidential nature of the case, authorities withhold information that could identify the children involved.
