Clearwater Bank Robbed at Gunpoint; Suspect Believed Tied to Prior Case

CLEARWATER – Clearwater Police robbery detectives are investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. today at the Wells Fargo branch at 639 S. Fort Harrison Avenue.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the bank and demanded cash while displaying a firearm. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the area on an e-bike.

Detectives believe the individual matches the description of the suspect involved in a bank robbery at nearby Regions Bank just over one month ago.

The suspect wore jeans, a plaid shirt, a black hat, and black sunglasses. He was carrying a black computer bag.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Clearwater Police at 727-562-4242.
