CLEARWATER — Police have identified the man killed in a Saturday night crash at the intersection of Court Street and Missouri Avenue as 60-year-old William Moran of Clearwater. The crash occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m.
According to the Clearwater Police Department, Moran was seated on a bicycle waiting for the traffic signal on a raised pedestrian crosswalk island when a collision occurred between two vehicles in the intersection. The impact sent one of the vehicles into Moran.
Moran was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he later died.
Both drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening. One person was transported to HCA Florida Largo Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
