Fire rescue personnel, along with officers from the Clearwater Police Department, were dispatched to a call for shots fired. The incident occurred on Friday, July 14, 2023, at approximately 11:10 p.m. The crime scene was the Highland Park Apartment at 2075 Highland Avenue.
Officers arrived at the location to find a 47-year-male tragically lost his life from a suspected gunshot wound. Another victim was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders provided immediate medical attention before transporting the injured victim to a nearby trauma center for further specialized care.
Officers swiftly detained the suspected shooter, and detectives have already interviewed the individual responsible for firing the shots, and the investigation is ongoing.
