The Clearwater Police Department participated in a multi-agency crackdown Wednesday night and early today on motorcycles and other vehicles operating in a reckless manner.
Clearwater Police officers were joined by units from the Florida Highway Patrol, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and Tarpon Springs Police Department. It is the second such operation that the Clearwater Police Department has conducted on the issue.
The enforcement effort began at 5 p.m. Wednesday and concluded at 3 a.m. today. The detail focused from Clearwater city limits north to the Pasco County line, with much of the emphasis being on U.S. 19.
The goal of the initiative was to observe and apprehend anyone operating a motor vehicle aggressively or in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of others.
