Clearwater Police Pursuit Ends in the Area of Ulmerton Rd and 119th St

Clearwater Police were called about reports of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road at Court St and Myrtle Avenue at approximately 5:37 a.m.  The vehicle was reportedly stopped in the middle of the road at Court St and Myrtle Avenue.

The arriving officer reported that the driver was passed out or asleep and rolling through the intersection. Another officer attempted to pull in front of the rolling vehicle.

According to reports, the driver awoke and rammed his car into two police cruisers.  Largo Police and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office were immediately notified.

A pursuit was authorized as the vehicle travelled south on Clearwater-Largo Road at speeds nearing 85 mph.

A PIT maneuver was used at 132nd Avenue and 119th Street to disable the vehicle.

Four occupants were in the vehicle and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

No officers were injured in the crash.

Marijuana, counterfeit money and multiple sets of keys were found inside the vehicle.
Multiple charges against all four will be forthcoming.

They range in age from 16 to 20; the driver of the car was 17 years old.
