Couple rescued from vehicle that crashed into a pond off Feather Sound Drive

Crews from St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to reports of a vehicle that crashed into a pond at Ulmerton Rd and Feather Sound Drive at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

An off duty Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy witnessed the accident and immediately jumped into the water.

They were able to get the driver out of the vehicle. When Fire Rescue crews arrived, a paramedic from SPFR jumped into the water as the vehicle was sinking and rescued the passenger out of the vehicle.

Pinellas Park Fire Rescue placed a ladder into the water so the paramedic and passenger could safely make it to shore.

The couple in the vehicle were uninjured. FHP is investigating the crash.
